Why do boys wear blue and girls wear pink? This interactive paper doll book explores how color in fashion became gendered, how its symbolism evolved, and what it means for fashion today. Users can “dress” dolls in different fashion eras with clear plastic pages, and learn more about the role of color and gender in that time. The second part of the book suggests a modern move towards gender-neutral fashion by way of color. The “Think Blue” fashion line shows original designs based on research about style and color preferences shared by all genders. Additionally, a shirt, pant and jacket outfit was sewed based on a design.
